Please take note that there will be a meeting regarding the concert this 8th October, Thursday.

1. Brief speech by the current president
2. Briefing by the newly elected chairperson of the concert

For current committee members, attendance is compulsory.

2009/2010 UMCO Annual Concert

Thank you to everyone who helped made our 2008/2009 annual concert a success!

Special thanks goes out to Traditional Orchestra Artisukma UKM for helping us out too! The concert won't be a success without the presence of you guys.

With the 2008/2009 annual concert over and done with, we have to start planning for our next upcoming concert, with the proposed date: September 2010

There will be a meeting on 1st October 2009, 8pm, at the UMCO room to discuss this concert. Please attend if possible, thanks.

We will be brainstorming our next concert, and electing a new concert committee to take on the organizing task. So if there are any members who are interested in helping out, please think of a position you are interested in, and we will discuss it on that day.

Rehearsal Schedule

For our concert rehearsal, below are the schedule :

4th September (Friday)

6pm - 8pm : Preparation
8pm - 10pm : Full rehearsal

5th September (Saturday)

10am - : Rehearsal
2pm (subject to change) : Final rehearsal

Juniors who are volunteering to help out on Friday, please meet at the UMCO room at 3.30pm to help us move the instruments to the KPS Auditorium.

Sponsorship update

We will be required to perform on behalf of Mr. Gan's (our main sponsor) request on 14th September, Monday night, starting from around 8.30pm.

Practice for this performance will commence on 8th September, from 8pm. Those who are involved please take note.

Our t-shirts have arrived, and all participating performers + committee members will receive one t-shirt for free. New members would have to pay RM8 each for a t-shirt, which is compulsory if you are helping out on the day of the concert.

Final practice dates before the concert :
29/8 Saturday, 1pm - 4pm : Small ensembles
30/8 Sunday, 12pm - 10pm : Full orchestra
31/8 Monday, 12pm - 10pm : Full orchestra

Pre-concert meeting

Please be notified that there will be a pre-concert meeting on 27th August 2009, 7pm at the UMCO room. New students/juniors are welcomed to attend, as we will give a rough briefing on the flow of the concert, and also to distribute the jobs at hand.

Current committee members, especially Shu Wen, Ching Yan, Wen Jin, Chui Kheng and Phoebe are required to attend as it would involve your biro.

UMCO Concert T-shirts

For those who have yet to seen our t-shirt designs, here's our finalized one.



Much thanks to Yong Hua lao shi for sponsering our t-shirts this year :) All committee members would be given one free t-shirt each after we get it from the printer. Much thanks to Phoebe for helping out too.

And also, thanks to Ying Xin from NYPCO Percussion Section in helping us with the design.

On another note, non of our letters for our posters has been approved by the HEP yet, so lets keep our fingers crossed everyone.

Sponsorship update

Dear all,

On behalf of Phoebe, I am glad to announce that we have a sponsorship valued at RM1774 from English Hotbreads. They have promised to cover our food expenses for this concert, which means we don't have to worry about the cost of food for two days, 16th and 17th July.

In addition, 500 Kenny Rogers and O'Briens muffins would be given out FREE to the first 500 concert attendees. Please feel free to spread this word round too.

On behalf of the committee, I would like to say a very big thank you to Phoebe for her utmost effort, and I sincerely hope that everyone else would continue to give their all to make this concert a success.
